Gallery Walk
In a gallery walk students select the subject they feel is their area of expertise than they utilize it to guide their classmate learning. Gallery walk is a disscussion technique that gets the students to actively engage in a lesson by walking around the room and conversing with their peers. Students have the opportunity to share their thoughts in a low risk setting, rather than in a large whole group setting. Teachers can utilize this strategy to assess student understanding of a particular concept or skill. It can also be used to promote classroom discussion that eventually leads to higher order thinking skills.
